We came in as strangers
We came out as best friends

Pictures from Orchard!

Madagascar!

With christmas just about a month away, Orchard has been lit up with very various decorations such as massive christmas trees. If your feeling bored at home I'd like to advise you to go out and look at all the bright decorations at Orchard during the night!

Another recommendation is watching Madagascar 2 if your finding a movie to watch. The movie is really hilarious although it's an animated movie. I will not be a spoiler and put any of the details of the movie on this blog as it will just ruin the movie, so if you want to find out, you'll just have the watch the movie itself. (:

{/Jobs
Wednesday, November 19, 2008 ( 8:16 PM )

Ok, so it's been like more than a week that we've had our holidays, I'm sure some of you out there have run out of money and are bored to death at home. Here's a suggestion, get a job! (: Although I say this, do not overwork yourself by juggling with two jobs or more. Take the job as a learning experience in the working world and don't be too obsessed with working because we're still only teens and have to make time for play and enjoyment. A piece of advice, when job hunting do not be too choosey as what you would work as because we're only sixteen-year-olds and we are only qualified to do a small range of work.

With that I wish all the best to you guys who are either working or finding a job!

{/Bowling at SAFRA
Tuesday, November 18, 2008 ( 10:01 PM )

Playing pool o.O

Rifhan coaching Hidayah on how to bowl.

Random picture of the bowling lane.

Syafiq plucking the guitar that err.. happens to be on his tee?

Posing?

Boredom can do strange things to you.

Rifhan & Syarif (Acting Silly)

Laughing at our own scores (:

Waiting for our turn to bowl.

Bowling at SAFRA yesterday was overall fun! We laughed at each other but still supported one another. It was a good way to spend our time since it has been quite sometime that we have done something together. Although the wait was a few of hours, we used the time by playing pool and taking loads of pictures together. Some of us even had our lunch there since we left home with an empty stomach.

Some of us were first-timers at bowling, but with the guide of the others we did fairly well in scoring. Enjoy your holidays 4niners!

Photos of the seaview from Aloha Changi!

Hello 4niners! I've done the recce of Aloha Changi and I have to say it's a nice place, there is a coffeeshop (where the famous Changi Village nasi lemak is sold) which is a few bus-stops away from where our chalet is as well as the Tampines mall if anyone wishes to eat fast food. The chalet is quite big, with two stories and a BBQ pit (: . The trip there is about an hour, having to change buses only once. More details will be informed as the chalet draws nearer, so look forward to it!
Sakinah is organising a trip to Escape Theme Park, anyone who is interested may contact Sakinah or me.
Entrance Fee for Escape Theme Park : S$17.50

{/Post-Prom Nite
Friday, November 14, 2008 ( 4:09 PM )

Aww, the night that we've been dreaming of going and having fun at has ended but all good things come to an end right? To make way for other good things to happen (: . I'm sure that everyone will agree that the fee of $60 we had to pay was worth it because we had the night of our lives! We partied, we laughed, we shouted and some of us even showed off at the dance floor and stage. Although we had to wait for a long time to enter the ballroom, we used the time to chat, take pictures and some of us even got a "tattoo"!

Once the ballroom doors were open, most of us entered and took the front tables. Pretty smart, getting the best seats before anyone else does! Although some of us were starved we waited patiently as the "good" students that we are as some speeches were given by the vice-principal and the emcee. The speech by the vice-principal was quite inspirational and touching, having to be called "Riversidians" for 4 years and now we are "Ladies & Gentlemen" (: .

After that there was a game played (kind of like scavenger hunt but u have to put on the items you found too), and I'm sure that we were entertained by the "creativity" of the participants that seemed more to the side of being hilarious. Next was dinner! Damn was it nice, we filled our bellies with the exotic range of food and the scrumciously delicious desserts. The dinner was followed by a performance by a singer. Then came the second game which the participants had to dance to the beat of the music, I have to say they do have talent : breakdancing, shuffling, doing the moon walk and even jumpstyle! The 3rd game was inspired by the gameshow "Deal or No Deal" but it's a much simpler version. We had fun seeing Maurice and the red-ties participating on stage as well as Ms Wong and her students.

Although we did not get any title of being Ms/Mr Singapore, a Minister or a successful Businessman we still won the best prize that is having the best of friends and spending the night with each other! There was a lucky draw and congratulations to Xing Yi for winning! Mr Wong gave a speech after that and I'm sure that we appreciate him for being funny at times. There was even a toast to ouselves and shouting "Yaaam Seng!" was fun too. Lastly with twenty minutes to ten the dance floor and stage was opened to us, although we were stiff at first and did not feel comfortable dancing, in the end some of us danced and we were real good at it.

It was really a memorable night and I'm sure being 4niners, we will keep the memories of Prom Nite for life and appreciate that we had the chance to go for such a fantastic event!

{/Pre-Prom Nite
Thursday, November 13, 2008 ( 1:00 PM )

Ok, so it's just a few hours away from Prom Nite! I'm sure everyone's excited, whether we're wearing a shirt and jeans or a tuxedo it doesn't matter because we're going to have the time of our lives tonight! 'O' levels have ended and this is the time to let loose and not worry about our studies, so go to prom with the mindset of having loads of fun.

For those who are still unsure on how to get there and not taking the taxi, here is a fast route:
http://www.streetdirectory.com/travel/mrt_guide/traveling.php?pid1=5949&aid1=123577&pid2=5907&aid2=2640&p1=5949&a1=123577&p2=22888&a2=12875

When you're having fun remember to take some photos of yourself and our classmates, you can send these photos to me through my email so that i can post the pictures on this blog.

For those who are not attending, I'm sure you have your own plans and are going out this afternoon/evening. I will post a brief summary on Prom Nite tomorrow so that you'll know what happened. (:
