Aww, the night that we've been dreaming of going and having fun at has ended but all good things come to an end right? To make way for other good things to happen (: . I'm sure that everyone will agree that the fee of $60 we had to pay was worth it because we had the night of our lives! We partied, we laughed, we shouted and some of us even showed off at the dance floor and stage. Although we had to wait for a long time to enter the ballroom, we used the time to chat, take pictures and some of us even got a "tattoo"!
Once the ballroom doors were open, most of us entered and took the front tables. Pretty smart, getting the best seats before anyone else does! Although some of us were starved we waited patiently as the "good" students that we are as some speeches were given by the vice-principal and the emcee. The speech by the vice-principal was quite inspirational and touching, having to be called "Riversidians" for 4 years and now we are "Ladies & Gentlemen" (: .
After that there was a game played (kind of like scavenger hunt but u have to put on the items you found too), and I'm sure that we were entertained by the "creativity" of the participants that seemed more to the side of being hilarious. Next was dinner! Damn was it nice, we filled our bellies with the exotic range of food and the scrumciously delicious desserts. The dinner was followed by a performance by a singer. Then came the second game which the participants had to dance to the beat of the music, I have to say they do have talent : breakdancing, shuffling, doing the moon walk and even jumpstyle! The 3rd game was inspired by the gameshow "Deal or No Deal" but it's a much simpler version. We had fun seeing Maurice and the red-ties participating on stage as well as Ms Wong and her students.
Although we did not get any title of being Ms/Mr Singapore, a Minister or a successful Businessman we still won the best prize that is having the best of friends and spending the night with each other! There was a lucky draw and congratulations to Xing Yi for winning! Mr Wong gave a speech after that and I'm sure that we appreciate him for being funny at times. There was even a toast to ouselves and shouting "Yaaam Seng!" was fun too. Lastly with twenty minutes to ten the dance floor and stage was opened to us, although we were stiff at first and did not feel comfortable dancing, in the end some of us danced and we were real good at it.
It was really a memorable night and I'm sure being 4niners, we will keep the memories of Prom Nite for life and appreciate that we had the chance to go for such a fantastic event!
